Updates: Hybrid Prius is Coming

Our trainor just informed me that the Hybrid-Prius model will become available in the Philippines sometime this June and will cost somewhere around two million pesos (php 2,000,000). The Prius model has an electric-engine which it utilizes during low-speed and an internal-combustion engine during high-speed that inturn charges the battery for the electric-engine, thus no need to plug it in unlike the Prius PHV model.

MP Chronicles: I'm Back

It was my first day back yesterday since temporarily resigning to take up units for a Master in Business Administration degree late January. Nothing much has changed besides the unit price and discounts. Being in the field of sales, the working environment is still very hostile, I’m back in the realm where your co-workers are your competitors, fierce if I may add, where teamwork and courtesy is viewed from a whole new different perspective, but hey, that’s life. We exist by the law of the jungle where the strong shall live and the weak dies.

As a marketing professional of Toyota, majority of our sales comes from walk-in customers. To sell, you must always be at your feet, always prepared, and always alert when a prospect comes in. This practice often leads to piracy of clients between MPs, hence conflict, hence broken relationships, and hence unpleasant working ambience.

At first it was very difficult for me to cope up with such setting, coming from a volunteer core in which we always depend on each other and always preaches teamwork to get things done, while in here you have to go through anybody if you want to perform well. But as I’ve said, that’s life, just be professional. “Trabaho lang, walang personalan, pero pag nagka-agawan, hindi maiwasan magkapikunan”

I’m on my 7th month going 8th, I got through this long primarly because I was blessed with batchmates (During the time we were hired) that I can count on. We never had a conflict between each other. We cared about our sales and performance but we value more the friendship and trust we have in each other. These are the people I call my friends in Toyota, where there are around 20 of us in the Vehicle Sales Department but there are only a few I can call true.

So this is it for now, I’m back to zero, got to get more prospects.
